Oral HPV infections in US

As published in JAMA, the prevalence of HPV oral infections among US participants (age range, 14-69 years) in NHANES 2009-2010 (n=5579) was 6.9%; the prevalence of HPV 16 was 1.0%. Oral HPV infections were shown to be a function of age, gender (male > female), number of sexual partners, and number of cigarettes smoked per day.
